Rental Portable Electric Heater Safety Tips

American Power Rental - 10KW Rental Electric Heater

Companies turn to rental portable heater support services when central heating systems fail or fail to provide sufficient heating services across the plant. While portable electric heaters are all designed with safety features, it is important to keep in mind the following safety tips to prevent untoward accidents while using it.

  • Select the right size that is rated for your space and application.
  • Place it on a floor (or flat stable surface) and secure before you switch it on.
  • Provide the right clearance (usually about three feet away) from other objects. Any combustible materials must be stationed well past that.
  • Plug it directly into an outlet with adequate power supply. Using extension cords is ill-advised and in fact a significant fire threat.
  • When opting for rental portable heaters, make sure you are renting units that have been tested and certified by Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories (NRTLs) to meet specific safety standards.
  • Don't leave it unattended. Make sure to turn it off and unplug it when not in use.
  • Keep it away from damp or humid areas for this is an electric shock hazard.
